Athea Community First responders are a voluntary group setup in 2007.
Our primary function is to respond to anyone living in the community who suffer a sudden collapse or symptoms of a Heart Attack. We are trained in CPR and use of Defibrillator in addition to administration of oxygen and Asprin.
Athea CFR’s are recognised by the HSE and PHECC and we will be mobilised by Ambulance control in certain circumstances.
We work on a text alert system where one member holds the phone for a week and will forward a text to all CFR’s detailing location of emergency. Defibrillator and Oxygen equipment is stored in central location in Athea Village.
